And So I Began

Ever look back at your life and find points in time that mark a change? Maybe it didn't seem like a big deal at the time but in retrospect the importance is clear. Time and events have a way of doing that.

Today marks the anniversary of one such moment in my life. On this day last year I landed in the center of the Ironman Universe and the collective HQ of the TriBlogging Alliance. One year ago I stood in the ocean at Panama City Beach in preparation for Ironman Florida.

I knew it was a big deal in terms of me being a triathlete. But, what I didn't realize is the impact it would have on me personally. Acquaintances from all corners of the country became close and friendships were forged in choppy waves, on windy roads, and cold mornings.

Like a parched desert runner, a single unexpected turn of the corner, in just the right direction, put me in the oasis of serendipity's embrace. Golden streaks of the sun's setting turned the northern sky scarlet until the harvest moon bathed me in Love's light. My world paused for a moment and has been all the better for it.

Stay tuned...

Mine too! We have a slide show on our laptop here that always pops up a few IMFL '06 pics. Great memories!
