News from the Front #1

At a recent speaking appearance I informed the audience that since 1988 the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training has rased over $660 million for blood cancer research and patient services. Not long afterwards I was asked about what progress is being made in the fight against blood cancers. Excellent question.

Over the last 18 years survivor rates are up, remission rates continue to rise, and better therapies have been developed. But, sadly there is no cure... yet.

From time to time I will post news and stories on the progress of treatments, services, and the search for a cure.

Meanwhile, this year I will race in five triathlons (one Olympic, three Half Ironman, and one full Ironman -- Wisconsin) to raise $50,000 in the fight against blood cancers. To learn more please visit www.TriathlonCares.com

Thank you for caring and trying. If a cure were easy to discover, it'd have been done. But we are all trying - and I thank you personally for your exceptional efforts.
BTW, that rubbery lump on John's neck is about a centimeter smaller than 6 months ago.... ;-)
I told Micki recently about how you carried John's name for IMFL, and she told John and he called me in tears - so touched and thankful for all the prayers. He WILL beat this, and he is so grateful to caring folks just like you!
God Bless you, Boomer.
