United Front

Ironman, it's said, is a metaphor for life. There's joy and heartache, achievement and failure, statements and silence, struggle and victory. By training and racing the metaphor of Ironman becomes a life in Ironman. I choose.... wait... make that, WE... choose to make triathlon a lifestyle.

Not racing Ironman Louisville because of a bum knee not only knocked my self confidence around but it also robbed me of an opportunity to display a very important part of my personal life for all to see. It's good part and it's right and it is something I will always defend.

So what's an Ironman enthusiast sitting on the side lines and facing possible surgery on his knee to do? Why, sign up for not one, but two Ironmans for 2009!

I will race Ironman USA in Lake Placid on July 26 and 50 days later race Ironman Wisconsin on September 13. The personal goal is to complete both gracefully however, IM USA has a greater significance. It is there the United Front will be displayed for all to see.

What is The United Front? For that you'll have to wait,

Stay tuned...

TriBoomer,

I love Lake Placid. It was my first Ironman and the course is fabulous. :)

Train hard my friend.

I know Kona Shelly will be there as well.

I will be trying to get a group of midwesterners to jump in my minivan for a drive to LP to volunteer in 09 and pull a slip for 10.
