Beating the Heat and Fighting the Fight

Summer heat arrived in Texas today with the thermometer reaching 95f/35c. And, it's going to be hoter this weekend.

Ugh.

It's no biggie because, while this Iron Gawdess and this superior tri-dawg fuss about the Texas heat and the Duel in the Canyon, I'm getting out of town to get my race on. Where am I going you might ask? I'll tell ya; where I'm going it's...

warm...

it's called paradise...

it's an island...

it's...

wait for it...

it's...

Maui, Hawaii!!!!!

I'm competing in the King's Trail International Distance Triathlon on June 10th in support in the fight against blood cancers. This will be my second race of the season as a member of Team in Training and my first ever race in Hawaii.

I'm racing in honor of one of my heroes, Kelly.

She's twelve years old, an honor student, and currently fighting blood cancer. For Kelly, everyday life would not have been possible without the groundbreaking research that developed her treatment plan. And that would not be possible without the help of gifts and donations by people like you. With your help you'll not only make life saving medicines possible but will help us all cross the ultimate finish line -- a cure!

This Sunday I'll race to help those that can't. To join in the fight please go to TriathlonCares.com and let's do something great together.

Stay tuned...

Since I live on Oahu let me tell you about the weather.... Actually it's pretty good right now. You will say it's beautiful and not near as hot as Texas. Our tradewinds should still be around so it should be great racing weather. Have a great time while your here.

Have fun in Maui!!!

I think that is great in the Team program that you are not only raising money for the cause, but they partner you up with an individual that you will be racing for, in a sense.
