wetsuit booties...
I'm thinkin' 4:35, buttercup.
Don't go too hard because you've got a little bike ride with me five days later.
Buy a cheap plastic poncho at the expo (I'm sure somebody will be selling them), and wear it during the race until your body starts feeling nice and warm. You can discard it at an aid station anytime.
I wore a poncho for an entire marathon last March - it's definitely workable.
And ... have fun!
Buttercups are THE BEST!!!
Good luck and have as much fun as you can!!
just enjoy every minute of it - you're running BOSTON for goodness sake! i'm all kindsa jealous!
Wear a hat with a visor and then the rain won't hit you in the face and you will hardly know it's raining. Good luck and have fun! What are you wearing? I plan on cheering even in the rain!
Save your money.
40 gallon trash bag over the shoulders. But make sure you cut a hole for your head to fit through!
And definitely wear a cap to keep the rain out of your eyes.javascript:void(0)

hmm well there is a 30% chance it will NOT rain, and also it may be too early to tell. i have a good feeling about this marathon boom. i really do. im thinking 51 degrees and sunny. sunny to partly sunny. would you like to borrow my wetsuit just in case? :)
Oh - in your discussion of wetting the course you are talking about rain! I thought for a moment that you would be doing a pre-race conn and leaving your mark periodically (till you ran out of water).
If it's going to be cold, get your hands on some surgical booties. It sounds goofy, but they help keep your feet dry and warm. Big plus in a cold race.
Several people at IM Wisconsin kept their arm-warmers on during the run portion.
Rain started coming down at the end of my marathon. If it works out that way for you, you will be so "into the marathon" you won't notice.....I didn't :-)
keep moving forward. that is all I have to offer. Good luck and have FUN!!!
So very awesome! Best of luck to you!

HOPE you have a great time! You're so damned hot!
Otterbox to save your iPod from the rain. Or sweat, if it doesn't rain (one of the tri bloggers lost an iPod to sweat in a marathon)
Hope you have a great race, Boomer! Been thinkin' about ya!
Have I ever told you that I think the hawtest runners are the ones that have done Boston?? You will be so damned hawt after this race!
well, If I were you and I had a really awesome jacket that is windproof, waterproof and wicking. I'd be planning to wear that.
It just so happens that I have one - I hope you do too!
The hat is a must - you're gonna lose heat in those conditions.
DO AWESOME!
You go Boomer! We'll be checkin' in as soon as we can from IMAZ central ...
"suck it up buttercup"? That's too funny!

Yup, garbage bags are the tried-and-true solution. You could have snow too. Precipitation means many things back there! You're in my hometown. I'm very envious!! See if you can take your kids on a Boston Duck Tour. Not sure if the swan boats are open yet - probably too soon. Fenway Park offers tours too. Don't forget the gloves. You'll need them!
just have fun...
