Pump It Up!

Can you believe that race season is just around the corner? All of those hours in the gym, on the bike strainer, and the dreadmill are about to be put under the stopwatch of competition.

There's no doubt about it... maaaan, I love this time of year.

However, lately, I've opened my calendar with one eye closed trying the ease the the "holy crap" feeling. The amount of milage volume I'm about to put on has my head shaking. Considering that just four years ago I didn't own a bike, didn't own running shoes, or swim goggles. Plus I couldn't run a half mile. All of this has me wondering, "what have I gotten myself into?"

Just take a look-see at what's in store over the next five weeks:

April 16: The Boston Marathon. (If you haven't made a prediction of my finishing time to win 50 buckaroos for your favorite charity this is a great time to do it here.)

April 21: The MS 150 bike tour from Houston to Austin, TX. Myself and co-founding member of the tripalooza glittaratti, TriGreyhound, will grind out (errrr... make that cruise) the entire 180 miles in one day. All. In. One. Day??

Gulp.

Then after a sweet trip out of the country the following weekend it's on to....

May 5: Wildflower Long Course (Half Iron Distance) Triathlon.
Yikes!

This is going to be one interesting season ... if not entirely exhausting. Hey, if you're going to be at any of those events give me a shout and we'll meet up. Just leave a comment or email me at TriBoomer@comcast.net

Glad you're along for the ride.

Stay tuned....

Love those 180 mile days especially when you start forgetting the words to songs and it makes you crazy!
Have a great season!

Holy Moly. Sounds like FUN!

Me? I have an entirely different kind of 9 month training plan this year.

I can't wait to see everybody at Wildflower. Only 4 weeks to go!It's going to be a great reunion.
Put Aquaphor in your bento box for your MS150 ride. You'll be glad. That's a long ride.

WOW, that looks like a SERIOUS season. You are SO gonna have fun. :)

Sorry but a pretty SHAMELSS cry for help follows:
If you have 5 mins, may I ask for your advice/pointers to my "17 weeks to O.D. Tri" training plan on my blog? My 1st ever O.D. and I am pretty confused about what constitutes a solid training plan, and yes, I am starting to panick!

Thanks for the phone call-how great to hear from Boomer Nation! We made an offer on the car-so we just need to sign the title. Yea! and yes, I think you are nuts. Can I race you at WF? No, I take that back-totally! But you can have a matching outfit with Iron Jenny, Kahuna and I :-)

I love this time of the year too! Everyone gets that vibe like they are ready to burst out of the gate for their first race and get their feet wet.

I'll probably be hanging out around the Boston Marathon somewhere. I'll shoot you an email once it gets closer.
