Post Season

It's the off season. Long for some. Others find it short. Victories, it's been said, are born in this season. Enduring bases are built. Speed will come later. Hours are devoted to technique and building muscle. Equinox ushers in the races as it always does. Live for the race. Live for the sound of the starting gun. You are always an althete no matter the day.

The flowers wild and turned will make their springtime return. Along the banks of a riverview the crimson leaves of maple reveal a northern spirit. The mirrored, blue and green hazel of lakes placid and skies grey shimmer off of the water as one season ends and a window of opportunity is opened. Jump through it dear triathletes. Plan the season and sow the seeds of personal victories. Assemble the pieces, the training, the sprints, Olympics, Ironman, and halves that make you whole.

Stay tuned...

Brian.
Everything you write is so poetic.
I know you must have put a lot of thought into this.
Now you need to post more.
Never have I ever read anything like this.
You are awesome!!

It's the off-season? Hey, somebody tell my coach. I might be getting robbed, here...

Boomer, it's good to hear your plans include a possible trip to IM Louisville. I'm building the Who's Going To Be Who in Louisville list. It includes anyone I know will be participating, either running or supporting the race.
